Chessington World of Adventures Resort is set to open its much anticipated Minecraft World next year.
And now, officials from Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have released more details about the new Minecraft hotel coming to the Surrey theme park.
During a recent virtual event, bosses unveiled plans for a brand new rollercoaster and themed hotel, shared mock up images of what the later might look like.
Updates on the £50,000,000 project is big news for gamers, with Minecraft one of the most popular video games, attracting 300,000 new players every day.
Fans have called the park — the first of its kind in the world — a ‘dream come true’, saying ‘I’d genuinely do anything to go.’
Here’s what we know about the new Minecraft World so far…
What do we know about the Minecraft Hotel?
The Minecraft World Hotel will feature 69 themed rooms (20 premium, and 49 standard) across four floors, bringing the game’s biomes, mobs, and blocky aesthetic to life.
Guests will check in amid Overworld-themed scenery before taking Nether Portal-inspired lifts and mine-tunnel corridors to their rooms.

While specific details of the rooms are yet to be unveiled, the mock-up sketches show rooms that would transport guests inside the game.
Images unveiled show two adult rooms, one has more muted theming, but the second features wallpaper with the classic main character Steve, and his female equivalent Alex, above the bed.
There’s a desk and crate that look like they were taken straight out of the game, a TNT block pillow, and a TNT block footstool.
There’s also a Creeper cushion depicted, which isn’t exactly giving ‘restful night’s sleep’.
The child’s room with a bunk bed appears to be designed to look like you’ve just taken shelter in a treehouse for the night, with wallpaper replicating the leaves of a tree and wooden blocks used by many to build their first homes.
A sketch of the hotel’s corridors show them with materials players find across the Minecraft world, made to look like you’ve just dug down to mine some precious gold and diamond blocks — as well as an appearance from the pesky skeleton character.
The hotel will also house an underwater-themed restaurant inspired by Minecraft’s ocean biomes, and a potions bar themed after the Woodland Mansion.
Daisy Mercedes, creative producer at Merlin Entertainments, said: ‘Every room, corridor and detail has been crafted with immense love for this game, the stories made within it and its community.
‘Seeing the Minecraft World Hotel take shape alongside the attractions we are building at Chessington World of Adventures theme park is a Minecraft fan’s biggest dream.’
What else do we know about Minecraft World?
At the live event, it was also revealed that there’d be a brand new rollercoaster, launching as part of the Minecraft World area.
The ride, Escape the Nether, is a high-speed coaster that features both indoor and outdoor action.
Riders will plunge into dark, underground mines inside before blasting through a glowing ‘Nether portal’ directly into the outdoors.
Online, the Minecraft World website gives a little more detail on the story behind the ride.

‘Will you escape? And yes, there’s lava. Lots of lava.’
The park is calling it the ‘ultimate Minecraft adventure and like nothing you’ve experienced before.’
Details on exactly when the park will be open are yet to be announced, with officials keeping it vague, saying it will be sometime next year.
