Rav Sacks taught that Judaism cannot be limited to a private relationship with G-d or protecting one's own community. “The Jewish question is not, ‘What can the world give me?’” he wrote. “It is, ‘What can I give to the world?’ Judaism is G-d’s call to responsibility.”
