Attention Greggs fans: the festive season has officially landed!

Depsite us being 83 days away from December 25, the beloved bakery chain has launched its Christmas menu — and one of the most missed items is finally back in shops this week.

Pigs in Blankets are making their triumphant return to Greggs stores nationwide. The chain’s version features six pork sausages wrapped in smoked streaky bacon, served in a takeaway pot for £2.50.

First launched in 2018, the popular festive snack hasn’t been available for four years, but it’s now in store and available for delivery by Just Eat and Uber Eats.

What do people say?

Back when they were in shops, people were big fans, with Garry Gammans calling them ‘smashing!’ on Facebook. Panayiota K. Theodosiou called them a ‘dream come true.’

Theresa Louise exclaimed: ‘Whoever thought of this should be awarded an OBE.’

It seems the demand is still strong, as since their discontinuation, Alan Smith wrote ‘need them now,’ and Ros Thomson asked if they were still around.

Well, it looks like their wishes have come true!

On Instagram, following the release @crookesjuliamarion added ‘Christmas dinner sorted’, while @saskiacurran said: ‘Looks elite.’
