The federal government has announced its plan to hit the United States with dollar-for-dollar counter-tariffs affecting hundreds of American products.

It comes after U.S. President Donald Trump’s 50 per cent tariffs on roughly $28 billion worth of Canadian goods came into effect over the weekend after trade talks between the U.S. and Canada broke down.
